Good question, Tom, and good answer
Rodney.
I also noted how seeds from SIGNA were noted for
registered iris, when I was working on the AIS Iris Encyclopedia, to mention but
a few:
SIGNA seed 03B-024
Seed from SIGNA Seed Exchange
SIGNA seed 96N345 X Mysterious Monique
from SIGNA seed of "Ecru", X I. ensata purple sdlg
SIGNA seed exchange via T. Tamberg and Sam Norris

Tom, It is complicated but you have it. Yes to the first question. The simplest way to list your hypothetical seeds would be "I. pumila ex SIGNA" and the seed lot #. To be complete you could repeat the description from that lot number, but we seldom see that complex a description and by this time they are pretty far from Armenia. :) In any case, you can always contact the contributor for more information about seeds.
