Not a true species, but I played with Iris x flavescens this year. It is remarkably stubborn to produce offspring even though it produces normal fluffy pollen. Out of dozens of seed pods, I only collected 3 seeds total. They were all from out-crosses. All the other pods were balloons (most of them were from I. x flavescens pollen). As a pollen parent I didn't get any successful takes on other species/hybrids.
