Re: Tigridia/Crocosmia/acidanthera/english Iris

The crocosmia did very well the first year, planted between the LA's and JI's The following year when the La's and JI's came up the crocosmia did not. We had a warm winter in 2000-2001 so I was surprised.

The beardless area is behind the house and in the winter shadow of the house. It can freeze very solid in that area.

This year I dug up and gave away some versicolor. When I dug up 2 of the 12, water welled up in the holes. The diffference in heighth and breadth of the two in the water surprised me. The iris were a foot taller than the others.
