Iris missouriensis white


Again, not the best photo.  This was taken May 30, 2002 near Antonito Colorado.  It was a very dry spring that year, and the plants were mostly only about 10 inches tall, soil bone dry, and flowers slightly deformed.  Note that there is absolutely no bluish or purplish pigment in this plant.  I have seen many such plants in southern and central Colorado.
 
Every plant is different in I. missouriensis populations and also attached are a near white (but with blue veining) and a "normal" purplish blue.
