Re: spec-x breeding

Dennis;

My scenario also tho my bearded bloom was a little better. Every LA
had outstanding blooms for me as did the JI's. Sibs and species not
so well. I'm getting to the point where "wait 'til next year" is
being questioned by the rest of my body.

The unknown white species I posted, I'm now sure is a good looking i.
versicolor worth hanging on to for the future. More have bloomed tho
not at that size and shape. It appears my cross-eyed cross of Whitey
may have taken. Finally the near vision has been corrected. A total
of 4 crosses 2 which have pods.

On another note last years cross of Sib Strawberry Fair X i. setosa
is growing good. Just 1 germinated. Cross in 2003 of Mint Fresh x Ji
Gracieuse is not so great. I have tremendous problems with nut grass
and may have used leftover Nutgrass 'Nihilator at a stronger rate than
anticipated. Gonna to baby her.
