Hey Sean, a plant collector in Georgia brought this back from Japan. 
A mutual friend saw it in his garden and told us about it. We visited him 
Spring of 2012 when we were in Atlanta and he let me dig a piece. I was 
worried about it last Summer during the drought as it tried to flower but 
failed. It has two stalks this year and three non flowering fans. I'm selfing 
it ! hoping for seeds.
