Most of my photos came out blurry, but this was one of the best
ones. Jewelweed was growing together with the brevicaulis alongside a
runoff stream from the bog, which in turn feeds a stream that feeds the
Great Miami River.
If I had to guess, I'd say there was at least 100-200 fans of brevicaulis
in this location. As compared to the ensata which had about 50 fans, and
pseudacorus which had a bazillion.
There was one other iris that remains unidentified. The leaves had a
midrib, just like pseudacorus, but the leaves were only 2ft tall, on a
clump at least 18" wide. I have no idea what it could be.
