Re: Iris versicolor variation

Nice selection. Like the Hatamatak swamp one best.

Watch for branching and bud count variations. There are some very nice clones in NS with excelent bud  count.

Subject: [iris-species] Iris versicolor variation

Over the past couple of years I have been seeking out variations in Iris versicolor in my area. So far, I have collected three blooming variations and recently collected another dozen non-blooming rhizomes from local bogs and swamps which hopefully will bloom next year and reveal some more variation.
I have attached photos of the three plants that bloomed this year.
