I've been killing them for longer than that. Well, I guess that's not
quite true. I gave up about 30 years ago.

I've just seen a wonderful clump at Glendale Gardens in Victoria B.C.
Canada. It's in a sunny spot, and the whole garden is a lot wetter
than mine - there are a couple of streams running through the ~1000
acre property. (The other black things are Aeoniums which are taken
in for the winter.)

Maybe I'll try the iris again in an area that I keep watered in summer.
