I keep killing G. italicus seedlings accidentally so my experience is
limited, but I'd be inclined to say yes. If I'm not mistaken they're
actually agricultural weeds in their native range. I always have near
100% germination and they seem to grow extremely rapidly (but next
time I'm sowing mine in place to avoid disaster).
