I do always assume that such unknown plants are hybrids to avoid propagating confusion. I'll just have to use it as an excuse to acquire more spuria species.

I really hate waiting years to flower the wrong plant. I've done that many times with rare trees also.

It is obviously a Spuria Iris, the signal looks a bit wrong for I. orientalis though. My guess is a Spuria hybrid.
