Of course we are not limited to genus Iris in this group. Or SIGNA!
 
That is why I felt entirely at liberty to suggest that if the person to whom I was responding failed in her garden with Susyrichium palmifolium, about which she seemed enthusiastic but not sanguine, she might try Narcissus 'Hawera' for similar charm and garden effect.  
 
If brief asides about companion plants are verboten, I do apologize.

I'm puzzled by your response. It is at least in the Iris family. We are not limited to only the genus Iris in this group. 

I think it would be great if it does prove to be hardy and this is one way to find out when so few are growing it.
