Sisyrinchium palmifolium

It survived last Winter in the ground here in Kansas City. The flowers are only one inch across but as you can see they make a nice bouquet. The leaves are one foot tall but the scape is at least two and a half feet tall. This is native to Argentina and Brazil, it probably won't make it through a bad Winter. We have just the one so I don't know if it will set seed. The flowers open in the afternoon and are closed by morning. ![]() Sisyrinchium palmifolium ![]() Sisyrinchium palmifolium |
