I don't have any photos, but I some years ago, I was writing a description of the Iris inflorescence. Here is the paragraph I wrote about Dietes -- The inflorescence of Dietes is similar except that the Iris scape lasts
only one blooming season then dies, while that of Dietes lasts several seasons,
bearing flowers from new terminal rhipidia (on new branches) each year. The Dietes branches bear subterminal bracts
and it is from the axils of these that new flowering branches arise; the old
terminal segments die. David E
