Our historical public
garden is looking for a source of seeds or plants of the species Iris siberica
as grown in mediaeval English monasteries and originally from Siberia and
eastern Europe.
We are located in Old Saybrook, CT where a âblue flagâ iris was
brought from England in 1632, then transplanted to Gardiners Island and grown
there for the next 300 years before being bulldozed into oblivion.
Any comments or information
would be much appreciated.
