I found the ants were particularly crazy on my foetidissima and versicolor this year.   On the foetidissima it was some kind of fast-moving giant orange ant, and on the versicolor it was a very minuscule slow-moving black ant.  I was slightly terrified making crosses on the foetidissimas!  I didn't want to get bit!
