While doing garden clean-up last weekend, I found a self sown G.
italicus that is a tad different. Like all other plants this year,
it's up too early. The planted clumps are also up looking normal,
this little guy is a couple feet from any other gladiolus. It may be
large enough to bloom this year. All photos I took make it look like
there are ridges but the leaf feels just like the plain green ones.
Overcast today, but when it's backlit by the sun the stripes really
stand out. I hope this turns out to be stable and can be propagated.
I don't think I've ever heard of, or seen any other variegated
glads. Anyone know of any?
