Hello all, I was looking around the garden this afternoon and found a self sown Crocus tommasinianus with 9 petals, a semi-double. Pretty neat and something I've never seen in a crocus. I hit google to see if there were any double crocus in commerce. I found only one, a very cute C. chrysanthus 'Goldmine'. Janis Ruksans claims this is the world's first double flowered crocus. Does anyone here grow or know this crocus? On further wandering I spotted a flash of blue, I had to investigate. The blue was not one, but two open blooms of the Juno Iris 'Sindpers'. What is really amazing is it was very cold earlier this week with a couple nights in the lower teens F. All the junos are up but I was not expecting flowers already. The weather forecast calls for mild spring temperatures for the coming week. I shall do my best to enjoy it and not spend all my time working or in garden club meetings.
