Well, yes, I'm sorry for the error, of course, as I have published a factually inaaccurate citation, although I confess it won't keep me up at night, frankly, and I doubt it would make much impact on Mr. Mathew, either.
 
I'm finalizing an article about a nursery in New Jersey which was in its time--1877-1902-- considered the first in this country to specialize in hardy perennials, and the first to specialize in native American plants for garden use. They had a remarkable collection of Irises, both species and cultivars. Interesting people like Carl Purdy collected for them, and they did business internationally. So, I'm in the later nineteenth century, grinding away for HIPS, here.
 
So, have you thoughts concerning that yellow pogon about which Jean is soliciting insights? Nice little thing. Interesting marks on the claw, I thought.
