Thanks! Reading up on pseudoregelias a bit, it would have to be I. tigridia based the locality, wouldn't it? Mere color form or not, I. ivanovae is now near the top of my hypothetical wish list (as are a number of Asian steppe and desert species; check out Iris longiscapa: http://www.plantarium.ru/page/image/id/133248.html).
