I am definitely interested! I'm sure I bought these white one (color not specified) from a mail order nursery so they must ship okay. I find no advice on when to transplant but most iris transplant well after blooming so now should be okay. I would try wrapping the rhizomes in a damp paper towel and enclosing in plastic wrap leaving the top exposed.
My address is Joan N. Cooper, 212 County Road C West, Roseville, MN 55113
I have several slightly different cristatas, but have lost labels on all of them. Most books say that Iris versicolor is Minnesota's only native iris--not true because the iris that looks like versicolor in my part of the state is Iris virginica shrevei. I don't think we have any others though. Verna is definitely not native here but cristata and lacustris might have been at one time. I also have white lacustris if you would be interested. Joan C.

Joan, I have a mass of *verna* typical, but have no idea how it would ship. This is a collected clone from near where the Blue Ridge Parkway crosses U.S. 25/Hendersonville Road in the southern side of Asheville, NC. A friend owns a 15-acre block of land there and moved some from where she found it to a site back of her house. The original clump is about 25 feet across. Mine (three spots) are expanding rapidly. If you are interested, let me know and send your mailing address. You probably have *verna* growing in the wild in your area--I haven't looked at its range distribution, but know it is one of the typical species in this area. I also have one *cristata* but I don't know where it originates. Mine came from a rhizome I found broken loose from a clump at the NC state Arboretum about three miles north of our home SW of Asheville.Neil Mogensen z 7 western NC near Asheville/Hendersonville area mountains and about an hour east of the Great Smokies Nat'l Park.
