Re: Iris setosa / I. hookeri

The East Coast form is Iris setosa subspecies canadensis and is lots smaller than the Alaskan or Korean or other Iris setosas that we usually see in gardens. There are other subspecies and varieties, but we don't often see them.         Joan Cooper

so, if I. hookeri is not used anymore to denote the short forms, then 
is is just that I. setosa is considered to nave a wide variation in 
height and is otherwise all to be grouped in one species?
