Just wondering, do fertilizers for acid loving plants - such as Mir-Acid - not work? Maybe it's not just for Rhodies anymore.

Dan,
I tried this some time ago. As I recall it took less than an ounce of
vinegar per 5 gal of water. You really need to determine this for your
water. It was easy to put in too much. Hand mixing proved to be impractical
for watering larger areas (my LA iris beds) so I went to using citric acid
in a hose mounted fertilizer (Miracle Grow) mixer. One fill of the feeder
adjusted 3O-40 gal of water as I recall. Citric acid may be hard to find. I
don't remember trying vinegar in the mixer but it should work. Even this
turned out to be a lot of extra trouble so I only did it for one season. I
don't know if there would be any long term effects from either.
