Iris gracilipes is a small crested species that I like a lot,
particularly after it has formed a nice clump. This spring
I purchased 'Buko Form' again. I had another one a few
years ago. With a bit of care I hope to keep this one alive
longer. Even with the transplanting, it is blooming. I'm attaching
a photo. The flower is only an inch across. I didn't even
see the little aphid until I got the enlarged image on my
computer screen.
By the way, I managed the dark background by moving
the pot into the late evening sun and casting a shadow
under the plant. The shadow affect works nicely with
white-flowered species.
