Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if you could grow Iris bucharica or
some of the other juno iris, as most are from high altitudes. Some
sources claim bucharica is hardy to USDA zone 3a (-40°C/F), and you
can plant the bulbs fairly deep or up against a heated basement wall.
