mystery iris

This iris is labelled douglasiana at a public garden here.  Even from a distance, it doesn't look like that to me.  The leaves are wrong, too pale, too soft.  The flower bud cover has an odd long empty tip.  It has now flowered, and the ovary is not right either.

Ideas?
