A few months ago I brought up a discussion about PCN x prismatica....
after reading up on Tomas Tamberg's website and his latest spec-x
seedlings. Several of you encouraged me to give it a go, and I'm happy
to report that a couple of great PCN hybridizers in San Francisco have
supported my quest by sending me packets of pollen from their latest &
greatest flamboyant PCN seedlings.
Because they sent so much pollen, I've been smearing it around on other
species...... fulva, brevicaulis, versicolor, and a tall dark purple
Siberian, so far. Today the first prismatica flowers finally opened and
I'm going to apply PCN pollen in just a few minutes. I'm so excited!
In other news, my cross of modern arilbred Hidden Pink with historic Mme
Chereau has set a pod on Mme Chereau. I wonder what crazy seedlings
I'll get from that? Oh, I also have a pod forming on tetraploid
pseudacorus Beuron from Hidden Pink pollen. But we'll just have to wait
and see if that cross really actually took or not.
Beardless iris season is in full swing here in Cincinnati.

PS: Beware of hummingbirds when hand pollinating Iris fulva!!!
