I'm having a good bloom season here in Ohio. I've made 78 crosses so far, and I'm barely halfway through bloom season. Iris tridentata blooms into early July. I was kneeling against a decaying tree stump while pollinating Iris flavescens today and ants started swarming up my leg. Luckily I was wearing long pants and brushed them off but one of them managed to bite my wrist. I also got confronted by spiders, bees, bunnies, mosquitoes, and more. Surprisingly, no ticks!Dennis in Cincinnati |
