Re: bloom season [1 Attachment]


 

102 crosses so far... and I'm still waiting on versicolor, virginica,
Spurias, ensata, laevigata, foetidissma, and tridentata to start
blooming. Siberians just started their big show. TBs are just past
peak bloom, but still looking good. Louisianas are barely starting. I.
tectorum alba is done, but I. tectorum violet will hit peak bloom this
weekend.

I stumbled across I. graminea in bloom as dusk was fast approaching but
managed to try making a cross. :-) I can't remember the last time I
saw this species blooming in my garden... seems like more than a
decade. I'm so glad to see it again.
