I find the buds of I. pallida to be interesting and unique in how they open.  Often the flower stays crumpled within the spathes and bursts out sideways.  It most often does not pierce the spathes apically as in most species.  These shots also shows the papery spathes well.   These are of apparently unnamed smallish clones, one white-flowering and the other blue.   Dave Yahoo!
