I doubt that the tectorum x bearded will have the potential of the arilbreds. There is much more genetic diversity in the many aril species than there is in tectorum.
But even so, there is no reason to not start a fertile family of tectorums x bearded.
C. G. White is respooncible for getting arilbreds goind. Sure, there were some before Mr. White. But he put them on the way to what they are today, and what they will become in the future.
The iris world could stand a person like Mr. white to get tectorum x bearded going. Unlike when Mr White started, we know a lot about genetics and cytogenetics. Given the amount of variatin there is to work with, there could be a lot of progress in a lifetime.
