Hello Yuri,
I found the photo just incredible. I had no idea
that this iris could be so tall and that it would also grow in zone 3.
Would it be at all possible to obtain some seeds of this iris? I would
certainly be willing to pay for any expenses in the way of postage
etc.

Obviously Iris kaempferi mandschurica
refers to Iris ensata clones grown in Mandschuria. Chinese Mandschuria is in
USDA zone 3, so continental clones of Iris ensata are much more hardy than
japanese ones. At least they grow here in zone 3 without problems and in
StPetersburg in zone 4-5 but with more colder summer.
