That would be really great if you had a tet .
Do you have a photo to share? I'm continuing to try Tectorm X bucharica. First try got four seeds. Only one was full size. It germinated but died at three leaf stage for no apapernt reason. This year I got three takes, but all seeds were small and not looking viable. About 3-4 seeds per pod. The oposite cross, bucharica X tectorm hsn't set any seeds or pods. Two years ago I ordered Iris wattii from Arrowhead Alpines. They sent a robust plant that bloomed the first spring. Immediately i knew it was not wattii. But it was so large and robust I did not recognize it as tectorum. It was not until this spring that it settled down a bit and realized it was tectorum that was larger in all its parts. Since years ago I have a plant of a white tetraploid tectorum from Sam Norris that turned out not to be cold hardy in Missouri, I have kept this one in a pot and have just tried a piece outside this fall. I am optimistic that I may have something great for breeding. For years I have wanted to do some hybridizing with the evansias and tectorum and tectorum and beardeds. Now I may have found a key. I still would like to find Iris wattii because crossing it with tectorum could produce a hardy version of wattii Bob Pries.

I have three seeds from some TB pollen. Only one pod had seeds, others tried did not. The seeds look quite normal so they might be from stray tectorum pollen. I was hoping the tectorum is tetraploid after oryzalin treating seeds. We'll see.
