I'm inclined to think you have Iris pseudacorus which is a yellow species that can be quite weedy. I don't see any likelihood of it suffering from the cold, but if you pot it, be sure to water it fairly often as it is a water lover.    Joan Cooper

    Here is a picture of what the rhizomes look like. They are all very small. We had a fairly hard frost last night. I still have them in my basement and have mist them some. Our basement is not heated so it gets pretty cold down there but not cold enough to freeze anything. I kept canna's down there for the winter before. I am in zone 5. So will pot them up tomorrow and keep them in the basement for the winter. How often should I water them? If at all?
