Re: new member

Fillipo; I welcome help from many sources and had drawn on the knowledge of many people. I believe you mentioned Janis Ruksans. I have tried to include his introductions in the checklist even when their only publication is in his catalog. It is very hard keeping track of all the names created when they don't always get properly registered.

I may have missed your biography and introduction. What is your preferred language? I am always interested in keeping track of Iris literature in all countries but often I miss things in languages other than English. Every country has a body of knowledge that does not always get recognized. I am sure you are aware of Ruksans's book 'Buried Treasures ...' He names two new species. I am anxiously awaiting Arnis Seisums book on Junos. I learn a lot from members of these Iris lists.

Dear Robert, thank you for welcoming and for your work.
I don't understand your regret about the previous message, I've never read something wrong, ambiguous or irritating from you.
Not nearly.
Thank you very much for description of Checklist and about the work involved, I guess it would be a great thing.

I approve your whishes about the encyclopedia, I ever tought if someone want to do something, he must do it as the best.
So, if I can be of any help for you....just ask. I would be very honoured to collaborate to your project, even if I think I can't be of big help because of distance and my poor knowledge of english lenguage.
I think if I give to SIGNA only my knowledge about italian irids will be a good thing, this is in my possibilities.

Be undesmayed and go on with your project!
fil.
