According to book "Irises of China" I.decora and I.milesii in native
grow in Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet. But first two areas are in China
zone 9 with temp. 20 to 30F and last in zone 4 with temp. -30 to -20F.
You see how great difference between that areas. Different clones can
have different frost resistance, but succesfull wintering also belong
from how thick snow cover is. You may know that 1cm of compressed snow
eliminate 1grad of C. Than you can calculate what temperature will be
on surface of ground (before several years I have myself measured
with electronic termometer temp. of ground surface and get the same
results). If you know origin of your plants you can decide
how to manage with your irises. But I doubt they are from Tibet,
because not only plant collectors but other visitors in this area are
not welcome by China power.
I can't give you any comments about innominata and tenax except that
former grow in mountainous areas of south-west Oregon and north-west
California and last in west Oregon and south-west Washington state,
but I quite don't know what winter temperatures there are.
