Re: borer at this time of year? pupae


Sandy,

I know about instars and pupae but have never seen a size description of 
the borer's pupae.  Sometimes I find what I would consider rather large 
pupae, maybe two joins of my little finger long, and brown, in the soil 
near irises where I've had borer damage.  They seem too large for the 
size of the moth, so perhaps they are not the borer's pupae.  Could you 
tell me just what the pupae looks like?
