Re: Greetings!

Tom: Welcome back. Since the Iris society is now 90 years old The last 30 years represents a significant part of the societies life. The change in the society is always glacial but I believe the last ten years have shown significant progress. I will be curious if you see much difference.

I never knew you, but am very familiar with your writings. They are still being used today. I am working on updating and revising Basic Iris Culture but your article on Aril culture is practically unchanged. You may not have looked at the Iris Encyclopedia but some of the paragraphs on various classifications contain many of your words. We all lay the groundwork for the next Iris generation and you did a good job of starting much of our current base. I welcome you back, I hope you find the changes that are in process beneficial and encourage you to help moving the society forward. .

Subject: [iris-species] Greetings!

Hello, everyone!

I recently joined SIGNA and this discussion group. I've been in and out of the iris hobby a few times over the last 30 years. (Some of you may remember me as Tom (Tadfor) Little.)

My wife and I recently bought a house on 1.1 acres in rural New Mexico, so I'm looking forward to many years of gardening ahead. My interest in iris species is mostly focused on bearded and aril types, although I do try a bit of everything.

I won't burden this message with my bio and hybridizing interests, but you are welcome to visit my website at http://www.telp.com/irises/ (still a work in progress) to see what I'm up to.

All the best,

Tom
