Re: Iris decora plantlets

I've seen and heard other reports of plantlets forming on Louisiana irises. I would let them mature as long as you dare.  In the neomaricas increases without mature leaves don't often live. When you see the beginnings of roots they are ready.

This year, one of my Iris decora from Chadwell's seed collection CC7733
from Nepal produced three bloom stalks. These had stem leaves but the
plant had no basal leaf fan. The stalks have died back to one or two
segments. Each now has plantlets forming at the base of a stem leaf. I'm
attaching a photo.

Plantlets are normal in the spathes of walking iris (genus Neomarica),
but as far as I know are not typical in species of true iris. I'm
wondering if I should remove them or cut the stem on either side and
plant them with the stem. Any thoughts?
