Re: OT-PLANT: Buddleia Colvillei

Jan, Buddleias are terrific! I have several (if we are talking about the
shrub/bush - I think we are - I couldn't stand the uncertainty any longer and
looked around for My DIRR among the "things" I squirreled away to make this
place look more presentable when my great-grands came last week)
Unfortunately Dirr does not mention that particular cultivar. I have a
beautful pink, (12'-15' tall) also a gorgeous white, a more reserved black
and a yellow. Plus seedlings which I give away - too bad I can';t send them
to you. Dirr says they grow from USDA zone 5 to 9 if that helps. I could
copy and fax the pages to you if you have a fax. We call it "butterfly
bush"(it really draws them) or "summer lilac" Dirr gives a list of cultivars
and their chracteristics. This Manual of Woody Landscape Plants is about 3"
thick and a gardner's bible, I don't klnow how useful you would find it, but
it is fascinating. and I wouldn't do without it. Must go or I'll nevr make
that Dr.'s appointment, but I couodn't resist answering - I just love
Buddleias! Rosalie nr Baltimore, USA ryfigge@aol.com
