Tried to make the first few crosses of the year this morning. Spirit World
opened: not a trace of pollen on it, so I dusted it with pollen from
Epicenter. Don't know what happens with luminatas x plicatas. The tet. LA
Godzilla opened. I've never crossed LA's before; I tried to "self" it but
am not sure I was able to pry it open enough to get the pollen in where it
belongs. Is this typical of louisianas? Bloom continues. Success Story
just started, opening flowers on 3 of ~15 stalks. I saved pollen.
One of my favorite parents is Byers' Reincarnation. None of its
deficiencies (floppy falls/substandard substance) seem to appear in its
childen, but its height, braching, vigor, and bud count pass along
wonderfully.
