I checked my clump this morning. Ten stalks - all had 5 buds. The progression is good.
First bloom opened 04/05/00. Some stalks have not yet opened any blooms, others have 1-2 open. No stalk has finished yet. Our weather has been cool of late, so the bloom rate is slower than normal. If I remember correctly, it bloomed for about a week last year, but there were fewer stalks.
It holds up well in the rain also.
Checked stem size versus a pencil.....the lowest segment is slightly larger, but the others are equal or smaller than the pencil, getting smaller as you go up the stem.
It does not have the grace and delicacy of ABRIDGED VERSION, which I would classify as a feminine look. BCS is definately a masculine look. In human terms, it would be referred to as "a HUNK".
