Hi
I'm so excited I have my first seedlings popping up for the season. The first one through was Mesmerizer x About Town. (If you don't know About Town, it's one of Blyth's best. A really fancy purple bitone)
I soaked this batch of seeds back in Jan and they sat in the fridge in vermiculite, with the odd trip into the freezer, up until the 4th of April when I finally got a chance to pot them up. And they've started to germinate in less than 2 weeks.
The weather in the last few weeks has been very atypical. Its been in the mid 20C range, max, and humid. No sign at all, of frosts yet. Everything is really stacking on the autumn growth and we're getting really nice regular rain. The roses look fantastic, especially as they were only planted last winter.
The rebloomers are really getting under way. In bloom or about to is
St Petersburg, Winterland, English Charm (again), Light Beam (which has been throwing up the odd bloom all summer) Breakers, Feedback, Harvest of Memories, Bountiful Harvest, All American, Waltz Across Texas..
I'm hoping we don't suddenly switch to winter and wreck all this beauty. Looking forward to what else will rebloom. The last couple of years the stock has all been adjusting to moves etc for me to get a good feel of what reblooms well.
