I think in a perfect world, the irises would have the proper name to attach
to
their heritage. But if the quest is a perfect iris and these have superior
qualities, then it doesn't make sense not to use them to produce seedlings
just because the name is unknown. The parentage of STEPPING OUT is
unknown, isn't it? It's a nice, tough iris which grows and performs well
here.
I'd rather have that than the lineage.
