Hello Lil, Its nice to meet you. I too grow tbs and
have been
doing so for only about two years. I have about 60
beautiful varieties. All of which I have gotten from
an elderly woman I garden for. I have learned pretty
much everything I know from her and I would say thats
quite a bit. She has been growing irises for 52 years
now and is really knowledgable.
I live in a small town called Brethren in Michigan.
I have a very small backyard but there is room for
many more tb's. I wont be there much longer anyways
because I will be graduating High school June 2nd and
will start looking to move. I probly will be there
for a minimum of another year so its not a real
rushrush thing.
I too plan to do a little hybridizing this summer.
It will be my first attempt at it. I plan to do
mostly blues, purples, reds, plicatas, and blacks.
Those are my favorites.
What irises do you have? If you like I'll send you
a list of the irises i have. I would right now but I
dont have my disk on me. Are you ever willing to
trade? I would love to if you would like to.
This year I plan to send for a lot of irises! I am
guessing over 400 if i can scrape up that much
money.:-) My favorite catalogs are #Redbud Lane,
#Nichol's Woodland iris gardens, Cooleys, Schreiners,
@Cal-Dixie, #Superstition and #Suttons. # = thesehave
excellent prices.
