Suuuure, I'll give it a whirl, but I'll warn you that I'm not a
techno-weenie. <G> My digital camera has 3 settings--low, medium, and
high. On the low setting you can get about 100 images per memory
card...medium about 40...and high about 15. (Rough estimates here.)
A low setting photo, when downloaded to my computer, is about 40 Kbytes.
Whereas a high setting photo is about 240 Kbytes. (Rough estimates here.)
Whenever I try to take a low-setting photo of my flowers, it *NEVER* comes
out in good focus...no matter how hard I try. But when I do a high-setting
photo it comes out great. So then I just reduce the dpi on the
high-setting photo to reduce the file size down to around 40~50 Kbytes.
It's a round-about way of getting a high-quality image at a reasonable file
size.
When I take photos of other things...big things...pets, people, buildings,
scenic views, etc. the low setting is perfect. It's only when I try to
take photos of small things like flowers that it becomes a problem.
Oh by the way, my camera does everything automatic...cuz I don't know how
to be a real photographer and set all the settings manually.
