Re:OT Color Charts

Hi Y'all--Came home from Daaaallas today -- a lovely time was had by all
there--and caught up on the messages-- I had purchased a RHS Colour chart
from AIS several years ago--intending to use it for the color of Iris and
Dahlias--Then Keith said he no longer uses the RHS Chart--due to the fact
that many colors are 'grayed' in it--and now uses another named color
chart--(cannt remember the name of it)---but is also getting away from that
one--and just having the hybridizer write his own description--with no
numbers used--
I just checked the latest R&I--'99--and find no mention of which color chart
used--
AIS had been selling the color charts until several years ago- they
purchased them from the Royal Horticultural Society of England--at the time
AIS needed to purchase new ones--they had no spare money to tie up in
inventory--so decided to not purchase them--hence--they are no longer
available through AIS.
Carryl in western Montana--zone 3--who is glad to be home and away from that
Texas wind!
