Speaking of tags. I have tried everything from Duc tape to plastic tape, to plain zinc. Everything is gone in a year even with good markers. I have thought of wood burning! What have others done? Mary Cary, MO.

I was last there 3 years ago, and most irises did have
tags at that point. There were many that were mislabeled,
though, and some labeled "Unknown". There were whole beds
that were being devoted to new cultivars, and these
appeared to have been labeled accurately.
Presby does have an official policy of not labeling
those that they sell, however, which limits the usefulness
of their sale, especially for those interested in
historics.
I hope to get there again this year, and will post an
update if I do.
