Chief Quinaby Using the new AIS checklist and it says 1993 but when I go
to
the book there is nothing.
Dante's Inferno The new checklist says 1982 but again the has nothing.
Pacific Peach The same the checklist says 1981 but the book nothing.
Crystal Pattern I can't find at all but bought if from a well known
commercial dealer.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You>>

It is traditional to refer to the year of Introduction when referring to
irises in catalogs and print, and this is the practice that has been
followed in the Name List on the electronic register. However, irises are
catalogued by year of Registration, which may be different, in
the R&I booklets and the printed Checklists.
This does not seem to be what is causing you confusion, though. The entry
for PACIFIC PEACH in the Name List of the electronic register reads as
follows:
PACIFIC PEACH I1979 (AWARD) TB TH1981C
The "I1979" refers to the year of Introduction. I have not yet deciphered
all of the cryptic codes, but the "TH1981C" is a reference to the fact that
this iris received an Honorable Mention (HM) from the AIS in 1981. The year
of Registration is not listed at all (it is 1977).
