I also use pieces cut from old metal venetian blinds. I write on one side with
a permenant garden marker and on the other with a china marken pen. The china
pen seems to last the longest but usuall one is readable and serves for
renewing the other. I'm hoping to acquire a thermal printer and print on
plastic tape. I understand that this will last up to 7 years or better. The
tape would go onto the slats from the blinds.
